Lunar Graduation Ceremony

Students who have completed Shuttle Operations, the Heavy Freight Type Rating and Passenger Liner Command this season will receive their licences and wings at our lunar graduation ceremony under the Great Dome at Shackleton Base.

Principal Sabine Aalto presides, Chief Flight Instructor Dario Okafor presents the awards for best check ride, and Grace Amoah announces the instructor of the year. Training captain Emeka Nwosu will give the graduation address, reflecting on his own journey from Kestrel first officer to Starliner captain.

Each graduate may invite four guests. Hiring partners will host a reception afterwards for new commercial pilots seeking their first positions.

The ceremony begins at 14:00 Shackleton time and lasts around two hours, followed by the reception in the Great Dome atrium. A live stream will be available for families who cannot travel to Luna, and the academy band will perform the traditional closing anthem.
