Deep Explorer Command Selection Day
Candidates shortlisted for the March intake of Deep Explorer Command spend a day at our Titan training annex completing interviews, group exercises and a simulator assessment in the Odyssey Deep Explorer bridge.
Training commander Élodie Marchand leads the selection panel and will brief candidates on the 30-week course, including the 21-day isolation simulation. Head of Simulation Mei Tanaka-Hollis will explain how simulator performance is assessed and what the panel is looking for in a future expedition commander.
Attendance is by invitation following application review.
The day ends with a group exercise in which candidates must agree a plan for a simulated emergency far from help, observed by the panel. Successful candidates will be notified within two weeks and offered places in the March intake.
