Outer-System Flight Safety Summit

Summit HSW speaking Enceladus Station Assembly Hall

The Outer-System Flight Safety Summit, organised by Saturn-system operators, brings ice haulers, skimmer crews and expedition teams together at Enceladus Station. Lumen instructors contribute three sessions.

Kaito Brennan will present lessons from Tempest Ice Runner reactor incidents and how training has changed in response. Élodie Marchand will speak on command decision-making during multi-year voyages aboard the Odyssey Deep Explorer, and Dr Hamid Rostami will share new data on radiation exposure and sleep in long-duration crews.

The summit is open to working pilots, operators and students on outer-system courses.

Other sessions cover ring-plane traffic around Saturn, Enceladus plume loading procedures and rescue coordination across the outer system. Lumen students on the ice runner and deep explorer courses attend as part of their training, and attendance counts towards annual revalidation for Tempest crews.
