Medevac Flight Operations: November Cohort Induction
The November intake of Medevac Flight Operations begins with a two-day induction at the Olympus Ring above Mars. New students will meet their instructors and the trauma teams they will train alongside, complete enhanced aeromedical checks and take a first walk through the Seraph Medevac in Bay 4.
Course lead Leila Nasser will outline the 11-week syllabus, from patient-safe acceleration limits to the live standby rotation in the final week. Senior Flight Medical Officer Dr Hamid Rostami will cover crew health, sleep discipline and how the medical crew aboard a Seraph works with its two pilots.
This event is for enrolled students and sponsoring rescue trusts. Families are welcome on the evening of the second day for a short welcome reception.
The induction also includes a safety briefing in the Seraph treatment bay, a first session with the flight physician who will accompany the cohort, and an introduction to the joint mass-casualty exercises that run throughout the course. Sponsoring trusts will meet their candidates individually during the afternoon of the first day.
