Bluewater Orbital Medical Trust
The Bluewater Orbital Medical Trust is a non-profit rescue and air-ambulance service founded in Africa in 2119, now flying Seraph Medevac ships from bases on Luna, Mars and L5 Lagrange Station. It is our longest-standing partner in rescue flying.
Every year the trust sponsors eight seats on Medevac Flight Operations, a full cohort, for pilots who commit to two years on its rescue roster. It also funds three places on Shuttle Operations for pilots who will fly its Kestrel patient-transfer shuttles.
Bluewater trauma teams take part in the joint mass-casualty simulator sessions at the Olympus Ring, and the live standby rotation at the end of the course is flown with Bluewater crews on real missions.
The trust is especially keen to recruit pilots from Earth's southern hemisphere, and its sponsored seats are open to applicants without the means to self-fund.
Bluewater's sponsorship includes the enhanced aeromedical examination and a trauma-awareness module taught by its own flight physicians before the course begins. Graduates usually join a Seraph crew at Shackleton Base or the Olympus Ring, and after their two-year commitment around four in five choose to stay. The trust publishes its mission statistics every year, and Lumen-trained pilots have flown more than 2,000 of its rescue and patient-transfer missions since 2180.
