Medevac Operations Endorsement
The Medevac Operations Endorsement is added to a commercial licence and permits the holder to fly the Seraph Medevac on rescue and patient-transfer missions. It is issued jointly by the IFSB and the Orbital Aeromedical Council, reflecting the fact that a medevac pilot's decisions affect patient outcomes as much as flight safety.
Candidates need a Commercial Pilot Licence (Orbital), 500 hours as pilot in command and an enhanced aeromedical certificate. Training requirements include 130 simulator hours, with joint mass-casualty exercises alongside medical teams, 75 flight hours in the Seraph and a supervised live standby rotation with a working rescue crew.
Lumen's Medevac Flight Operations course at the Olympus Ring is the accredited route. The endorsement must be renewed annually, and holders must complete a joint crew resource management refresher with medical staff every six months.
Rescue trusts and medical services across Luna, Mars and the Belt require it for every pilot on their rosters.
Holders are expected to maintain a minimum of 12 missions or simulator sessions per quarter. The endorsement is valid only in combination with a current Seraph Medevac aircraft familiarisation, renewed annually.
