Skimming Jupiter: What Gas Giant Pilots Really Do

Webinar Hosted by HSW Online, broadcast from the Ganymede Jovian Detachment

Instructor Meera Raghunathan has flown more than 1,400 dives into Jupiter's upper atmosphere. In this live webinar she will show cockpit recordings from real Nimbus Gas Skimmer passes and explain what pilots are doing at each stage, from entry to scoop to the climb back to orbit.

Topics include heating limits, radiation dose budgets, Jovian storm avoidance and the differences between skimming Jupiter and Saturn. Meera will also explain the entry requirements for the Gas Giant Atmospheric Flight Endorsement and the sponsored seats available for the January intake.

Free to attend. Questions can be submitted in advance.

Because the broadcast comes from Ganymede, there is a short signal delay for live questions; Meera will answer submitted questions first and then take live ones. Recordings will be available on request for anyone unable to attend at the scheduled time.
