Meera Raghunathan

Meera Raghunathan heads the Jovian detachment on Ganymede and teaches Gas Giant Skimming. She has flown more than 1,400 skimming passes through Jupiter's upper atmosphere in the Nimbus Gas Skimmer, and spent two seasons adapting the technique for Saturn.

Meera wrote the academy's Jovian weather briefing guide and works closely with helium cooperatives on safety standards. Her webinars on atmospheric skimming attract pilots from all over the outer system.

Meera is also part of the radiation-safety committee shared by the Ganymede helium cooperatives, and she flies at least one full skimming season every two years to stay current. Her weather guide is updated annually from her own flight logs and cooperative data.
