Oskar Brandt

Oskar Brandt teaches the Courier & Interceptor Rating from our L5 hangar. A former express courier pilot, he flew the Aurora Mk II on L5-to-Mars runs for five years and holds the academy record for most solo hours in type.

Oskar's research into fatigue on multi-day single-pilot flights reshaped the course's ground school, and he now advises courier firms on rest rules. He co-hosts the simulator night challenge with Mei Tanaka-Hollis and is usually the one setting the hardest scenario.

Outside the cockpit, Oskar is the academy's resident sleep researcher, working with flight medicine on rest planning for long sorties. His fatigue guidelines are now issued to every courier firm sponsoring seats on the course, and he reviews incident reports for two of them each quarter.
